The make-up and outlook of family is changing across the African continent.Pearent exists to support that “village.” into the next generation. Pearent was born from a deeply personal experience: as an active aunt, our founder Luhle Shange-Khumalo found herself stepping in to pick up nieces and nephews from school, taking them to doctor visits, and filling important gaps,but without always having the right information or tools at hand. She realized this wasn’t unique to her; in South Africa and across Africa, many families rely on extended relatives, step-parents, and close friends to help raise children.
Pearent makes it simple, safe, and transparent for co-parents and caregivers to collaborate. Our mission is to empower families,whatever they look like,to raise children with confidence, connection, and shared responsibility.
